Lyrics

I woke up feeling alert and refreshed.
I felt I’d had a night of good rest.
I stand up and start each morning with a stretch.
It’s a habit I’ve gotten into and repeat every day,
Hoping it will keep old Father Time so far away!

I now feel so good, I’m raring to go.
I look forward to facing all the hours I have left to show.
I work hard on my Task to stay young and so spry.
Now after looking in the mirror I feel I could die.

Just when you think you’ve got life figured out.
You look in the mirror,
And you’re left with such Doubt.

I know now what it means to grow old overnight.
As it’s happening to me right here in plain sight.
I was convinced I would keep my looks for oh so long.
After looking in the mirror, I guess I was wrong.

Just when you think you’ve got life figured out.
You look in the mirror,
And you’re left with such doubt.

It’s sad to think you’d got it all worked out.
Then to look in the mirror
And you’re left standing there with so much Doubt.

So, here’s my secret for preserving your looks.
Is to remove all the mirrors from your walls.
And just leave all the hooks.
